A Step by Step - Prayer by Prayer Guide on Praying the Rosary!

Hello out there! I received a comment on my blog post about praying the
Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary - I don't receive very many comments and I always
reply back. Anyway, back in April of 2017 I shared the rosary on my blog every day for
a week! I started on Divine Mercy Sunday of 2017. I'm going to re-share that post below
and continue the whole week long. Praying the rosary is so important!

Divine Mercy Sunday - 2017
The Importance of the Family Rosary -
Pray Together as a Family - Pray Together as a Couple!
Good morning out there! Today is Divine Mercy Sunday and the 2nd Sunday of Easter!
I received a much needed reminder about something very important this morning.
Jim and I were sitting in the kitchen and drinking a cup of coffee. He was reading the
newspaper and I was looking through yesterday's mail. I opened the letter we received
from Guadalupe Radio Network and read it. There was also a two-sided insert titled,
"The Importance of the Family Rosary" and a pamphlet on how to pray the rosary.
The reminder I needed was that we need to pray the rosary in our home, together on a
daily basis.
I pray the rosary when I walk outside and when I walk at the gym. I periodically pray
the rosary with a group of friends in the courtyard at our parish. Jim and I pray the
rosary with our friends and fellow parishioners before Mass in the sanctuary on Sunday
evenings.
The point I'm trying to make is that Jim and I rarely pray the rosary together anymore.
We both have our individual prayer times but somewhere along the way we stopped
praying together, as a couple, on a regular basis. We still pray together before meals and
at Mass. Many times we will pray the rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet while we
are traveling but not on a daily basis.
This morning while Jim was reading the paper I kept on saying, "listen to this," as I read
different quotes and information about the importance of praying the rosary together
as a family. Jim would lay the newspaper down and listen as I read different things
to him. The sad thing is, we know how important it is to pray together, to pray the
rosary together, we just haven't made praying together a priority lately.
I feel like God is reminding us, calling us to pray the rosary together again. I invite all
of you to begin praying the family rosary together. Families all over the world need
prayer. We all need God in our lives. Jim and I are going to make praying the rosary
together on a daily basis a priority in our home. It only takes 20-25 minutes to pray the
rosary. If you don't think you can fit this into your schedule then try praying one decade,
that will only take you about 5 minutes. I know you can spare 5 minutes! I am going
to explain how to pray the rosary for those of you who may not know how. I will try
really hard to walk you through it step by step on a daily basis for the next week.
Are you ready? Let's get started!
I'm going to list all the steps that are in this pamphlet published by the Marian Press.
You can still pray the prayers of the rosary without actually having a rosary. Use
your fingers to keep count of the prayers.

The following are the prayers of the rosary -
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in
Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died,
and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from
the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the
Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and
lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for
us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be To The Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope,
to thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears; turn, then, most gracious
Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises
of Christ.
