Choosing Light and Life - Babies are Blessings!

 Hello out there!

Today is Saturday, August 22nd and the weather report is: Sunny and hot!

It has been almost three months since I've written a post for my blog! Busy summer, busy life! I'm thankful that all of my stories/posts are available (archived) on my blog site. I've written about so many things since I started my blog in March 2014 and I'm always amazed when I look at my stat page and see how many people are still finding my blog and reading my stories. I pray that each story they read is helpful and a blessing. Sometimes I'll see a title and date from years ago. I'll look that story up to read  and it's humbling to feel such a strong emotion about a story I shared long ago. Stories from my heart.

My blog is about life. It's about faith, hope, and love. Sharing the message of truly respecting life from conception to natural death and all the many stages of life in between.

My motto is: Being truly pro-life / pro-family begins in our own homes - taking care of our own families. This includes our spouse, our children from conception to always and forever! Being a listening ear, a helping hand. Spending time with our grandchildren, sharing words of wisdom as they grow older and shoulders to lean on when life is hard. We need to take of our elderly parents and grandparents. Treat them with love and respect. And our brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles too! Reach out to someone in our parish or church who doesn't have family close by. Forgiveness is so important. Don't hold grudges, and be a light for your family. Family meals are a great way to reconnect. Pray together before you eat. If something spills, no big deal, clean it up. Another one of my motto's is, "If you're still hungry when you leave, it's your own fault! Thank you Jesus, we always have plenty to eat!"

I'm blessed to have been adopted at birth and I know that adoption is a loving life option. But I also want young women to know that so much help is available if you want to keep your baby! Pregnancy Help Centers / Pregnancy Resource Centers do not charge for pregnancy tests or sonograms, they are full of items and resources to help you and your baby! The following is a 800 number to call and find the nearest center to you:

800-712-HELP (4357) Call this number and tell them your zip code or city and state and they will give you the number for the Pregnancy Help Center near you. They answer the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! I've called just to check it out! Super nice and they thanked me for sharing this informations!

I really like to keep my posts upbeat and positive but sometimes I have to share things that we need to be aware of - The next two paragraphs share things that are going on in our communities right now.

Parents beware! The morning after pill is everywhere! No ID required. No age limit. Why? How in the world did we get here? We need to protect our teenage daughters and college age daughters!  And some young ladies have taken these pills unknowingly because they were  added to their food or drink without their knowledge - it's being called "Forced Abortion" - this should alarm everyone because men can buy these pills also!  Does anyone question why they need these pills? Evil! And now these pills are getting in our water supplies and that's not healthy for anyone. I checked the other day I was at the grocery store and there it was, eye level, easy to find! We are fighting a spiritual battle! Put on the armor of God!

On August 10, 2026, Governor of Massachusetts, Maura Healey signed legislation removing restrictions on late-term abortions, allowing abortions up to birth. "Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act" is the tile. There were several, well dressed women, smiling with glee and clapping their hands as she signed this bill. The law will take effect on November 8th of this year. May God have mercy on us all. I watched the video this morning - knowing that if I was going to share this horror story - I needed to see it for myself. The devil loves this - it's like his twisted, evil claws are surrounding these women, and his ghouls are dancing around the room. These poor babies! Those heartless, cold women! There are none so blind as those who refuse to see!   (There are ten other states that allow abortion up to birth - this will be #11) Please pray for eyes to be opened and hearts to be touched so that babies will be seen as the gifts they are and cared for from conception.

Back to some positive information!

October is "Respect Life Month" - We had a pro-life ministry meeting at our parish earlier this week. We discussed ideas and shared information about some of the things we can do to  build a culture of life in our homes, parishes communities, etc. We shared dates about pro-life events happening in our area. Prayer and praying together is vital! We are handing out litanies in English and Spanish with a beautiful picture of Mother Mary and Baby Jesus - the artwork is known as, "The Virgin of the Lilies" and the litany is so full of life, faith, and family.

Litany of the

 Blessed Virgin Mary,

 Mother of Life

Letania de la Santisima

Virgen Maria,

Madre de la Vida

I wrote this little poem years ago - I had forgotten about it until I came across it while reading one of my stories from yester year!

Gifts from Heaven

Babies are

Gifts from God Above

Love them, Protect them,

Sings songs of joy

New Life, New Life

How Precious They Are

Peace and blessings to you and yours,

Near and far, wherever you are!

Bye for now, Sharla
