If you have a prayer group or a rosary group that meets once a week, come and
spend that hour in the courtyard with us!

I love this bible verse -
                           Truly you have formed my inmost being;
you knit me in my mother's womb. I give you thanks
that I am fearfully, wonderfully made; wonderful are
your works. My soul also you knew full well; nor was my
frame unknown to you when I was made in secret, when I
was fashioned in the depths of the earth.      Psalms 139:13-15

Please pray for me during this time and please pray for my family.
                                                      Bye for now, Sharla

THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE, I'M GOING TO TRY AND LET IT SHINE!

Good Morning Out There! Prayers are being said for all the children, teens, teachers,
counselors, bus drivers and everyone else who works in our schools!
Today was the first day of  school for six of my grandchildren. My youngest
grandson is in Kindergarten, one of my granddaughters is in First Grade, and another
granddaughter is in Third Grade.  My three oldest grandchildren are all in the
Fourth Grade (one grandson and two granddaughters.) I have two more grand-
daughters that will be going to Mother's Day Out programs and the youngest two
granddaughters (5 1/2 months and almost 5 months) are still at home with their moms!
Yes, the girls out number the boys 4 to 1!
Last night before Mass I bought candles. I carried the candles over to the Shrine of
Our Lady of Guadalupe.  I said the name of each one of my grandchildren as I lit a
candle for them. I knelt down to pray and looked at all the candles burning brightly.
I looked up at the beautiful picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe and smiled. As I prayed
for each one of my grandchildren I thought about all the people who had lit a candle,
what an awesome visual sign of faith.  Prayers lifted up to God for all of our intentions,
always praying for those we love.
This morning Jim and I were at the Adoration Chapel. I love the quiet, peaceful hour
that we spend there early each Monday morning. I prayed the Joyful Mysteries of the
rosary and read my daily devotionals. Jim and I sit side by side, sometimes he is
kneeling, other times I am, we quietly pray our own prayers. The hour that we spend
with Jesus in the quiet little chapel is truly priceless.
I read something in one of my devotionals about being a light in the darkness. I hope
that I am a light to those around me.
I am going to close with a prayer I wrote a couple months back.

I pray that your day is full of blessings. If you are sick, I pray that you will get well.
If you have lost a loved one, I pray that you will be comforted. If you are anxious,
I pray that a feeling of peace will wash over you. If you are lonely, I pray that someone
will reach out to you, I pray that you will know that even though I may not know you,
I really do care. If you are struggling financially, I pray that God will send you what
you need. If you are struggling with addiction, I pray that God will give you strength
and courage to give up whatever is holding you hostage. If you are in a crisis pregnancy,
I pray that you will be directed to the path of life, and guided to all the help that is
available for you and your baby. If you are a caregiver, I pray that you will get the
rest you need, and know that it is ok to take time for yourself.
Dear God, I lift all the intentions I've listed above to you. I pray for anyone and
everyone who might be suffering or going through any of the things I've written
about. Please God, show us how to take care of each other, to love one another and
help us to be discerning in all that we do. Thank you for today, please guide us and
help us to live the way you want us to. Please keep us safe and help us to look to
You, and not the world for direction and answers. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
                                                Blessings and Peace, Sharla

PRAYING FOR THE BABIES!

Hello Out There! I just wanted to take a minute to share the Glorious Mysteries
of the rosary with you. The intention that follows the scripture is said with
the Pro-Life Rosary. Beautiful prayers, scriptures and intentions. We pray the
Glorious Mysteries on Wednesdays and Sundays.
I keep hearing about how there is a war on women, the real war is against the
unborn, the babies are the ones who are killed in this holocaust called "choice."
Please pray for babies born and unborn, please pray that they will be loved,
nurtured and protected. Please pray for families everywhere.

As Catholics, we pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary on Wednesdays.
When we pray the Rosary for the Unborn, we add special intentions after the mystery
and the scripture verse.

The First Glorious Mystery
The Resurrection
"You need not be amazed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, the one
who was  crucified. He has been raised up; He is not here. See the place
where they laid Him." (Mark 16:6)
Christ is Risen! By His Resurrection, He has destroyed the power of death,
and therefore the power of abortion. The outcome of the battle for Life has
already been decided: Life is victorious! Let us pray that all pro-lifers will
spread this victory to every segment of our society.

The Second Glorious Mystery
The Ascension
Then, after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into Heaven and
took His seat at God's right hand. (Mark 16:19)
By ascending to the Father's throne, Christ takes our human nature, given to
us in the womb, to the heights of heaven. He shows us that human beings are
made to be raised to heaven, not thrown in the garbage. Let us pray that the
world may learn this truth and reject abortion.

The Third Glorious Mystery
The Descent of the Holy Spirit
All were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to express themselves in foreign
tongues and make bold proclamation as the Spirit prompted them. (Acts 2:4)
The Holy spirit is the Advocate: He pleads our cause, for we cannot save
ourselves. We pray that He will make us advocates for the babies, who
cannot speak or write or vote or protest or even pray.

The Fourth Glorious Mystery
The Assumption
You are the glory of Jerusalem....you are the splendid boast of our people...God is
pleased with what you have wrought. May you be blessed by the Lord Almighty
forever and ever. (Judith 15:9-10)
The Blessed Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into heaven because she
is the Mother of God. Mother and child are united. The Assumption reminds
us that they belong together. We pray that society will see that it cannot love
women while killing their children, and cannot save children without helping
their mothers. We pray that people will be touched by the pro-life question,
"Why can't we love them both?"

The Fifth Glorious Mystery
The Coronation
A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon
under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. (Revelation 12:1)
Mary is the Queen of the Universe. She is the greatest creature, second only to
God Himself. The church defends the dignity of women. We pray that
people will understand that to be pro-life means to be pro-woman, and that
to be pro-woman demands that we be pro-life.

Blessings to you and yours!           Bye for now, Sharla

JESUS PROTECT AND SAVE THE UNBORN

What If? What if we promoted the pro-life message in such a way that everyone got it?

Good Morning Out There! Just a quick post before I head out the door.
I'm going to Sacred Heart to help with the Sack Lunch Ministry today, one
of my favorite things to do! This past weekend we had the Ministry Fair
after each Mass, it was great! I'll tell more about that later. I just wanted to
re-post something I had written last summer. This thought has just been so
on my mind, and in my heart. Blessings to you all!

What if? What if we promoted the pro-life message in such a way that everyone
got it? That everyone understood that a baby is a baby, not a choice. That even
though abortions are legal, no one would choose to have one. That an abortionist
would see that he or she are taking a life, instead of saving a life, that instead of
being called an abortionist, they would want to be called a doctor. You are probably
thinking "dream on sister" and maybe, probably you are right. I just know that right
now I feel an urgency about spreading the pro-life message. I just want to spread
awareness about the help that is out there. I want people to know that abortion is
not their only option. In the early morning hours, my husband and I pray for the
unborn on the East Coast because we know that abortions are already in progress.
We pray throughout the day for all the unborn everywhere, for their mothers and
for their fathers to say NO to abortion and YES to life! We pray that the abortionists
will walk out and say, NO MORE, I will not take another baby's life, not today,
not ever! Please pray with us for the unborn, please pray for the baby girl or baby
boy's mother and father, please pray for the abortionists.
Please pray for an end to abortion.

                                   Prayer to End Abortion

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
and for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.
I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.
I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
                                        Today I commit myself
                                         Never to be silent,
                                         Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.
I commit myself to be active
                                         in the pro-life movement,
and to never stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
and our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
not just for some, but for all.
                                   Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Happy Birthday, Homemade Banana Pudding, and A Love Story

Good Morning Out There! Yesterday was my husband's birthday, and I am
just so thankful for him. He is such a blessing to me, our children and our
grandchildren! Instead of a birthday cake, I made Banana Pudding, using the
original, old fashioned recipe. I had to double the recipe because we have such
a big family, and I used one entire box of "Nilla Wafers" and 3/4 quarters of
another box because Jim likes the cookies! I carefully arranged each layer in
a 9 x 13 casserole dish. The original recipe has meringue on top so you have to
cook it for about 20 minutes. When I pulled it out of the oven it was browned
just right! While the pudding was cooling, I seasoned a brisket and put it in the
oven to cook, I already had a big pot of red beans (pinto beans) cooking! I
washed up some of the dishes and then I placed vanilla wafers all around the
edge of the pudding and put a few on top in the middle. I placed the banana
pudding on the table and covered it with a couple of napkins. I moved the beans
to the back burner, and started another pot of water boiling on the front burner
to cook the pasta for a pasta salad. I wanted to hurry and get that done so that I
could get it in the fridge to cool before dinner.
So..............the dessert is on the table, the brisket is cooking, the beans are
simmering, the pasta salad is in the fridge. I decide to go ahead and cook some
pork ribs too! I take them out of the fridge, season them, wrap them in foil,
and put them in the oven on top of the brisket.
Dishes are washed, dinner is cooking, dessert is made. I stock the fridge
with drinks and take out the trash.
I really need to take a break for a few minutes but I think of something else
I need to do. Before I know it, my husband is home from work and the kids
and grandkids arrive shortly there after.
Hugs and kisses and "Happy Birthday, Pa" before the kids head out the back
door to jump on the trampoline and/or jump in the metal stock tank we have
for them to splash around in. While they are busy playing, the dads set up a
table and chairs in the backyard while the moms fix the kid's plates.
Prayers are said and everyone is fed!
Our daughter made brownies with lots of pecans, because that is how Jim
likes them. Our son brought watermelons, that we will eat this weekend when
our oldest son and his family come to celebrate again.
With full tummies and tired kids, hugs and kisses once more, everyone loaded
up to head back to their homes. Jim and I walked back into the house, our home,
smiled and took a deep breath. We finished straightening up feeling very blessed.
I bought a rustic looking picture/sign that I hung out on the back porch this week.
It says, "Every Love Story is beautiful but ours is my Favorite" Jim says it is
the perfect sign for us!
Blessings to you and yours! Bye for now, Sharla

JESUS, PROTECT AND SAVE THE UNBORN!

Hello Out There! We have to speak up for the babies even louder now!
So..............I HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT

My motto for today is: I will not be silent, I will not give up!

First Sorrowful Mystery
The Agony in the Garden

Luke 22:44-45
In His anguish He prayed with all the greater intensity, and His sweat
became like drops of blood falling to the ground. Then He rose from
prayer and came to His disciples, only to find them asleep, exhausted
with grief.

Let us pray for mothers and fathers who are in agony because they
are tempted to abort a child. May they be given the good news that
there are alternatives, and may they make use of the help that is available.

Second Sorrowful Mystery
The Scourging at the Pillar

John 19:1
Pilate's next move was to take Jesus and have Him scourged.

As Christ's flesh was torn by the instruments of those who scourged
Him, so the bodies of babies in the womb are torn by the instruments
of the abortionists. Let us pray that abortionists may repent of these
 acts of child-killing.

Third Sorrowful Mystery
The Crowning With Thorns

Matthew 27:28-29
They stripped off His clothes and wrapped Him in a scarlet
military cloak. Weaving a crown out of thorns they fixed it on
His head, and stuck a reed in His right hand...

Jesus suffered the pain of thorns in His head, and did so silently.
We pray for the mothers and fathers of aborted children. So many
of them suffer deep grief and regret over a choice they can never
reverse. So many suffer in silence, because others tell them it's no big deal.

Fourth Sorrowful Mystery
The Carrying of the Cross

John 19:17
....carrying the cross by Himself, He went out to what is called the
Place of the Skull (in Hebrew, Golgotha).

Jesus was not condemned by the power of wicked people. He was
condemned because of the silence of good people. Silence always
helps the oppressor, never the victim. Let us pray that we may
never be silent about abortion, but rather will clearly speak up to
 save babies from death.

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery
The Crucifixion

Luke 23:46
Jesus uttered a loud cry and said, "Father, into Your hands
I commend My spirit." After He said this, He expired.

As we ponder the death of Christ, let us remember the many women who have died from so-called "safe, legal" abortions. Let us ask forgiveness and mercy for them. May their memory save other women from making this tragic mistake.

Jesus, protect and save the unborn.

Listen to Your Heart, Don't Listen to the World!

Hello Out There! The last couple of weeks have been full of reports
about the scandal at Planned Parenthood. I have watched the tapes,
read the reports, watched the news and now I'm ready to share how I
see this situation. First of all, I'm appalled, disgusted, horrified, upset,
dismayed and just down right sad. I pray that these heartbreaking videos
will open the eyes of the blind so that they can truly see the evil that lies
within the walls of Planned Parenthood.
I have commented on many of the pro-life posts that have come out on
face book about the scandal. I am happy to share that there are many
people trying to get the pro-life message out. I have shared comments back
and forth with both men and women who have suffered greatly because of
a past abortion. My heart goes out to all of them. I shared websites for
healing after an abortion. I also heard from other people who were adopted,
and one lady who shared her story of being a birth mother. She new that
she would not be able to care for her baby and chose adoption. She and I
replied back and forth for quite a while. I told her that since I couldn't
thank my own birth mother, I wanted her to know that, "She did good!" I
told her that I knew she loved her baby and did what she thought was
best for her child. Our dialogue back and forth was pretty emotional for
me.
Dear God, please open our eyes and touch our hearts, please have
mercy on us all. Amen.
This is from a post I wrote last July, 7/28/14 - I felt like it really needed to
be re-shared this past week. I copied it and posted it on many of the
pro-life sites, the response I received was overwhelming:

The world we live in today believes that a woman's choice is more important
than a baby's life,  and that is a lie. The world we live in today believes
"live and let live," unless you are a baby in  your mother's womb. If  you are
pregnant, there are two lives to think about now, two lives to  take care of.
Please, choose life for your baby. I've talked to women and men who are still
devastated over an abortion that took place years ago. It has taken decades
for some women to finally heal after an  abortion. I've read articles, and heard
testimonials, I've cried with women as they have shared their stories with me.
I write this blog not only to save the baby, but to save the young woman from
the heartache, and guilt she feels after having an abortion. No one wants to talk
about this subject because it just isn't very comfortable, it is certainly not
politically correct unless you are pro-abortion, and people just don't want to
get involved. So, here I am, because I truly care, I truly want to make a difference.
I want to get the message out there, abortion is an ugly lie. I'm not saying that
choosing adoption for your baby will be easy, and I'm also not saying that raising
your baby will be easy. But I believe if you choose life for your baby, once you
hold your sweet baby boy or baby girl in your arms, you will make the right
decision for both of you.
One of the definitions of mother in the dictionary is:
To care for or protect as a mother does............That's just it! A mother does what
is best for her baby, she protects her baby!
A baby's heart start beating just 21 days after conception, listen to your heart,
place your hands over your stomach and think about the baby boy or baby girl
that is growing inside you, that tiny little life is a miracle, and needs you.
Listen to your heart, don't listen to the world. You are strong enough to take care
of your baby, and if you choose adoption, you are doing what you feel like is best
for your baby. Please choose life for your baby, there are people out there who
will help you.

So many people shared their grief over a past abortion that I posted websites for
Rachel's Vineyard Retreats - Please share these websites, you never know who
might need them.
