This post is going to have something from the past and something from today!
Let's start with what I want to share from this morning. Jim and I were at the
Adoration Chapel and I was catching up on some of my Pro-Life Daily Devotions
that I had gotten behind on. The following scripture, reflection, and prayer are from
yesterday's date, April 7th.
If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but since you claim, "We see,"
your guilt remains. John 9:41
Reflection. The Pharisees simply refused to accept the evidence of the miracle of
Jesus healing the man born blind. Not to know the truth is not a sin. But the
refusal to know is.
Some refuse to face the truth about the child in the womb and the violence of
abortion. The sin is not in blindness, but in the refusal to see.
Prayer. Lord, we want to see. Preserve us from the guilt of choosing to be blind.
Help us to choose life! The book I quoted from is:
"Pro-life Reflections for Every Day."
Written by Father Frank Pavone and published by Catholic Book Publishing Corp. NJ
I just remembered something else I wanted to share with y'all. It was in our Sunday
bulletin (Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart) - Fifth Sunday of Lent
Prayer for an End to Infanticide
The U.S. Senate recently failed to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection
Act-legislation that prohibits infanticide by ensuring that a child born alive
following an attempted abortion would receive the same degree of care to preserve
her or his life and health as would be given to any other child born alive at the same
gestational age. Please pray for an end to infanticide.
"Jesus, Lord of Life, transform the hearts of all government leaders to recognize
that infanticide is wrong and must not be tolerated. Open hearts and minds to
recognize and defend the precious gift of every human life." Amen and Amen!
The following is from a post I wrote back in April of 2018:
"We live in a world that pushes drugs, sex, live for the moment type attitude,
and our kids (I mean all children everywhere) need our prayers. They need to
know that we care; they need their dads and they need their moms to be parents!
They need guidance from people who care about their well being. I've been to five different church youth groups this year. I drive home with tears streaming down my
face and my heart feeling like it will explode because I want to protect them all.
I know that seeds are planted - I see it in their eyes - God please keep them safe
and make them strong! Amen."
The following scripture is from the
"Saint Joseph Edition of the New American Bible."
Jeremiah 1:4-10
The word of the Lord came to me thus:
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I dedicated you,
a prophet to the nations I appointed you.
"Ah, Lord God!" I said,
"I know not how to speak; I am too young."
But the Lord answered me,
Say not, "I am too young."
To whomever I send you, you shall go;
whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Have no fear before them,
because I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.
Then the Lord extended his hand and touched my mouth , saying,
See, I place my words in your mouth!
This day I set you over nations and over kingdoms,
To root up and to tear down, to destroy and demolish, to build and to plant.
One more thing!
January 2018
I think of the precious unborn baby boys and unborn baby girls, sons and daughters, who
never had a chance because some influential people decided they were a money making
choice. The blood of all the unborn babies who have been aborted is on their hands.
No soap will ever be strong enough to wash it off unless they see the horror of what
legalizing abortion has done and speak the truth and admit that they were so very wrong.
My heart goes out to the women who have been misled, coerced, pushed, and bullied
into having an abortion. I have cried with many women who suffer deep regret from a
past abortion. There are men who have regrets also. Relationships are destroyed and
families torn apart, just what the devil wants.
It is time to say no to death and yes to life. It is time to help people find all the help that
is available for them and their unborn child. Let them know that adoption is a loving,
life option if they are not able to care for their child.
It is time to say yes to marriage and yes to family!
It is time to say "I am worth more!" and say no to empty promises and promiscuity. Say
no to being used and manipulated! God wants us to be loved - He wants us to love one
another - not use each other. Be self-less not selfish.
You, yes you, are beautifully, fearfully, wonderfully made!
When I first started this blog, back in March of 2014, I wondered if I would think of
enough things to write about. I would pray and ask God to give me the words, to guide
my hands with each and every verse. It's been almost four years and the words fill my
heart until I think it will burst! I write what I feel and each word comes from my heart
not knowing if I'm helping but knowing I can't stop!
God bless you all near or far,
Blessings to you wherever you are!
Bye for now, Sharla
