Praying and Trusting - Father, Son, Holy Spirit - Come!

 Hello out there! Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday - Come, Holy Spirit!

I am so thankful when God gives me the much needed sign I'm seeking. God is so great and He knows exactly what I need even when I don't realize it until it is right in front of me. Everyday our prayer list grows a little bit longer. Jim and I finally had to write down an actual list so that we would remember everyone who has asked for our prayers. There are times when someone will come to my mind and I will feel such an intense desire to pray for them right then. I will pray and pray until I feel at peace.

God is in control - He's got this! Yes, we are to pray for one another! I also have to trust in God's will, His mercy, His grace. I have to give this person I am praying so hard for to God. I have to trust in God's will! Praying and asking for Mother Mary's intercessory prayers and for our saints and guardian angel's intercessory prayers is a huge blessing.

Thursday night I was praying and worrying, planning and not sleeping! I finally fell into a restless sleep. When I woke up on Friday morning I saw something on the floor at the foot of our bed, right underneath it. I thought it was a quarter and bent down to pick it up. It was not a quarter, but an old brass medal with praying hands on one side and the Serenity Prayer on the other side. I have not seen this medal in years. I think it used to be on Jim's key ring but it might have been on mine. I know, without a doubt, that our loving God, made sure I found that medal. I showed it to Jim and he said that I needed to read the first prayer in our daily devotional. He is an early bird and always reads the daily scriptures before I do.

Prayer for the Morning

The Lord shows the path to those who stray: let us give thanks and praise, alleluia!

Signs are everywhere - God is always guiding us, taking care of us, loving us, and reminding us that He is in control - He's got this! I went and found a small nail, and grabbed my little hammer from the kitchen. I hung the medal right above the light switch in our bedroom. The praying hands are right there for me to see, right next to our Holy Water Font.

These are the words from the morning hymn that is below the prayer from above. I'm sharing the first three verses and the sixth (final) verse.

Eternal maker of all things,                                                                                                                           Of day and night the sov'reign King,                                                                                                            Refreshing mortals, you arrange                                                                                                                   The rhythm of the seasons' change,

The rooster sounds his morning cry                                                                                                              -Throughout the night he watched the sky-                                                                                                    For travelers, a guiding light                                                                                                                         To tell the watches of the night.

The morning star that hears the cry                                                                                                              Dispels the darkness from the sky.                                                                                                                  The demons, hearing the alarm,                                                                                                                   Abandon all their paths of harm.

O Light, upon our senses shine.                                                                                                                    Dispel our sleepiness of mind,                                                                                                                   That we may sing your morning praise,                                                                                                        Then, vows fulfilling, live our days.

Isn't that beautiful? Tomorrow is Pentecost - Holy Spirit, Breath of God!

My prayers will continue and I am more at peace - God loves us so much that He sent His only son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins!

 Dear God, please open our eyes to the path You want us to follow. Please open our ears to hear Your voice. Please soften our hearts to accept Your will in our lives and the lives of all those we love. In Jesus' Holy Name, we pray, Amen.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
                       courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Alleluia!
