When the Straw Breaks and You Find Your Voice

Hello out there - It is absolutely beautiful outside.
Yesterday I spoke at the Day of Mourning Event that took place at the courthouse
in San Angelo. One of the things I talked about was how to get involved -
how to speak up and be a voice for the unborn. Writing letters is one way and I have
learned that sometimes you just have to keep on trying. Submit articles to your local
newspaper, write letters to your city, state, and government leaders. Wear a pro-life
t-shirt. I have lots of pro-life t-shirts, I wear them often. Share pro-life posts on social media/Facebook. Stop worrying about hurting someone's feelings - babies are dying -
speak up! But when you speak up, know what you are talking about - be diplomatic
but mean what you say. If someone asks you a question that you don't know, it is okay
to say, "I don't know the answer to that." But then say, I will find out and get back with
you on that issue/topic. And then, make sure you do find out the answer and get back
with them. This blog, all of my posts and stories are another way
of speaking up for the most innocent among us. There is a difference in saying,
"yes, I am pro-life" and rolling up your sleeves and being a pro-life advocate.
I realized many years ago that I wanted to get off the sidelines and jump right in the
middle of it. I believe that there comes a time when the final straw breaks whatever is
holding you back and you "find your voice" - that is what happened to me.
Sometimes we're just not sure where to start or what to do.
I found my voice and  stepped out of my comfort zone on July 1, 2013.
There was an article in the newspaper about the filibuster by Wendy Davis, she wanted
abortion to not only be legal up to twenty weeks in Texas but up to twenty four weeks.
I am thankful that did not pass but in the newspaper that Monday morning, on the first
page it talked about all the people from all over the world calling to congratulate her.
I was appalled and my letter writing to the newspaper began. That wasn't enough so
I started my blog, and then I got on Facebook, and if you read my blog - you know the
rest of the story! But my story is still going - it is not over - I will continue to speak
up and now,  I'm asking you to think about what you can do. Because now, abortion
has been legalized up to birth (for any reason) in New York and other states are
quickly joining in.
The straws should be breaking right and left, that camels back is beyond broken!
Find your voice - the babies need you.

Let Me Hear You Roar!

Hello out there -
Are y'all ready? I just read something on Facebook that made my blood boil! It
was a good picture and article and makes all the sense in the world and that is
why I got so worked up!
I don't have the pictures - so use your imagination - but the following is what it says:

If You Kill A
Preborn Turtle
$100,000 Fine
One Year in Prison

If You Kill A
Preborn Eagle
$250,000 Fine
Two Years in Prison

If You Kill A
Preborn Human
Zero Penalties
Applause From Liberals

All you have to do is read the title of my blog to know that I was adopted at birth.
I don't understand why our taxes fund Planned Parenthood - why don't our taxes
fund adoption - it should not be so expensive for couples to adopt! Anyway, the
following is the comment I wrote on that Facebook post.

Did you know...that at the moment of conception, when we (planned and unplanned)
were smaller than a grain of sugar our inherent traits were already set. From that very
moment it was determined that I was going to be a girl, have blonde hair that would turn
brown, brown eyes, dimples, and be of average height - I think my Texas twang might
of already been decided also (just a guess)! - and what about you? You were uniquely
made too! There isn't some type of line that you cross over if you "were planned or
were wanted" because I wasn't planned but God knew me from that moment and I was
wanted and so is every baby - why don't we work to fund adoption instead of abortion -
make adoption affordable and abortion unthinkable!
Why in the hell is it illegal to kill a turtle egg or an eagle egg but cheered and applauded
to kill a baby? My life matters and so does every unborn baby's life - planned or unplanned -
we are all made in the image and likeness of God our Father!

Sometimes I just get angry at the injustice and inhumane way some people think about
an unborn child! I won't close on a negative note - I will end with something uplifting.

Once upon a time, fifty-five years ago, a baby girl was born and she needed a home.
Never knowing the circumstances or the reason why, her birth mother
couldn't keep her, she had to say goodbye. This baby girl was three days old when a

loving family came, and took her to their home. Now this baby girl
had a family of her own.
With love and joy and happiness this baby girl grew up, she never met a stranger
and her heart was full of love. She loved to hear the stories about her special day,
the day her family came and gave her their name.

Well, y'all know that baby girl was me - and not only did God bless me with brown
hair and brown eyes, dimples and a Texas twang - He filled my heart with words to
share and when I'm tired and weary - He reminds me who I'm fighting for and
righteous indignation wells up and I will speak louder than ever before!

I am woman hear me roar.....
Babies are babies no matter how small -
Please God, please - help us save them all!

Just Sharing My Pro-Life Message

Hello out there! It has been a sun is shining, wind is not blowing, beautiful day!
I'm going to copy and paste part of a post I wrote back in June of 2014.

I found this quote from St. Catherine of Siena a couple of weeks ago -

The following was written for my blog in June of 2014:

The world we live in today believes that a woman's choice is more important
than a baby's life, and that is a lie. The world we live in today believes
"live and let live," unless you are a baby in your mother's womb. If  you are pregnant,
there are two lives to think about now, two lives to take care of.
Please, choose life for your baby.
I've talked to women who are still devastated about an abortion they had years ago.
It has taken decades for some women to finally heal after an abortion. I've read articles,
and heard testimonials, I've cried with women as they have shared their stories with me.
I write this blog not only to save the baby, but to save the young woman from the
heartache, and guilt she feels after having an abortion. No one wants to talk about this
subject because it just isn't very comfortable, it is certainly not politically correct unless
you are pro-abortion, and people just don't want to get involved. So, here I am, because
I truly care, I truly want to make a difference. I want to get the message out there,
abortion is an ugly lie. I'm not saying that choosing adoption for your baby will be easy,
and I'm also not saying that raising your baby will be easy.
But I believe if you choose life for your baby, once you hold your sweet baby boy
or baby girl in your arms, you will make the right decision for both of you.

One of the definitions of mother in the dictionary is:
To care for or protect as a mother does

A baby's heart starts beating just 18 days after conception, listen to your heart,
place your hands over your stomach and think about the baby boy or baby girl that is
growing inside you, that tiny little life is a miracle, and needs you.
Listen to your heart! Don't listen to the world.
You are strong enough to take care of your baby, and if you choose adoption,
you are doing what you feel like is best for your baby.
Please choose life for your baby, there are people out there who will help you.

"For I know well the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for woe to give you a future and a hope."
                (Jeremiah 29:11)

Sharing Some Prayers!

Good morning out there!
I have some more prayers to share with y'all. Every now and then someone asks
me about certain prayers and I try to make sure I post them! Prayer is so important!

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet:
This prayer is for the whole world.
The refrain goes like  this:
For the sake of His sorrowful passion,

have mercy on us and on the whole world.
How to pray The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy:
(It is easier to keep up with if you have a rosary, but if you don't,
you can count on your fingers.)
1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross and then pray (1) Our Father,

(1) Hail Mary  and The Apostles Creed.
2. Prayer - (Pray this 1 time)

Eternal Father,
I offer You the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son,

Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for ours sins and those of the whole world.
3. Pray this refrain 10 times:
For the sake of His sorrowful passion,

have mercy on us and on the whole world.
You repeat steps (2) & (3) for a total of (5) times.
4. Conclude with (3 times)
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One,

have mercy on us and
on  the whole world.
5. End by making the sign of the cross and saying Amen.

The Guardian Angel Prayer:
Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
To whom God's love
commits me here,
Ever this day,
be at my side,
To light and guard,
Rule and guide.

Amen.

Blessings to you and yours!

Adopted and Blessed: Words from my heart by Sharla Ynostrosa

I came across the video trailer they made for my book. It's hard to believe
that it's been over two years now. The book includes stories from the first
two years of my blog. I've been writing for almost five years now. The last
three years of my blog posts are not likely to be published but all my posts
are available on my blog - from my very first post, March 22, 2014 -
today. I pray that my stories will touch your hearts and be a blessing in
your lives.

Step Out of the Darkness and Into the Light

Hello out there -
It is hard to even watch the news or read the newspaper right now. Oh my goodness -
gloom and doom. Sometimes you have to tune it all out. I'll tell you what touches my
heart, puts a smile on my face, and brings me peace and joy - seeing all the families
at Mass. Jim and I go to the 6:00 p.m. Mass on Sunday evenings. Last night there were
families everywhere! Dads and moms with their teenagers, dads and moms with their
babies, couples we have gone to Mass with for years, children everywhere, widows,
widowers, single people, young people, not so young people - I love that!
No matter what the news portrays...I see life, I see love, and I see faith and hope when
we go to Mass on Sunday evenings. I sat in the back because Jim was an usher and I
wanted to be by him. This sweet family with their three youngest children sat next to
us. When it was time to pray the Lord's Prayer, their middle son, who is about seven or
eight years old, reached over to take my hand. As I stood there and prayed with my
right hand being held by my husband and my left hand being held by that sweet little
boy, I felt peace and hope wash over me. Go towards the light and step out of the
darkness - God is with us. He is always with us.

Matthew 19:14
"Let the children come to me. Do not hinder them.
The kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Seek, and you will find.
Knock, and it will be opened to you.

The one who knocks, enters.

to thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears; turn, then, most gracious
Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises
of Christ.

The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary - Step by Step

Hello out there! I'm posting the mysteries of the rosary every day this week (that is
my plan). I've done this before but it's been almost two years. I'm copying and pasting
my post from back then. All the prayers and intentions are listed - a step by step guide!
Are y'all ready? Great! Here we go...

Hello out there! I hope you all had a wonderful day. Just a quick post before I
turn in for the night. I want to re-share the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary
with y'all again. I copied them and I am going to paste them below along with
some prayerful examples! I pray that your families are safe and warm and that
the little ones have said their prayers and are tucked warm and snug in their
beds!
Let's get started with the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. I'm going
to post all the prayers again and then I will follow with the mysteries.
After you have  been praying the rosary on a daily basis for a while,
the different mysteries/scriptures  will remind you of different things you
need to pray about or people you need to pray for.
At least that has been the case for me.
Example: The First Sorrowful Mystery is The Agony in the Garden
and that brings to my mind people who might be going through an extremely
difficult time. Praying the rosary helps to keep my focus on family members
and friends that I need to pray for.

The following are the prayers of the rosary -
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in
Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from
the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the
Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and
lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for
us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be To The Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope,

Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises

A Step by Step - Prayer by Prayer Guide on Praying the Rosary!

Hello out there! I received a comment on my blog post about praying the
Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary - I don't receive very many comments and I always
reply back. Anyway, back in April of 2017 I shared the rosary on my blog every day for
a week! I started on Divine Mercy Sunday of 2017. I'm going to re-share that post below
and continue the whole week long. Praying the rosary is so important!

Divine Mercy Sunday - 2017
The Importance of the Family Rosary -
Pray Together as a Family - Pray Together as a Couple!
Good morning out there! Today is Divine Mercy Sunday and the 2nd Sunday of Easter!
I received a much needed reminder about something very important this morning.
Jim and I were sitting in the kitchen and drinking a cup of coffee. He was reading the
newspaper and I was looking through yesterday's mail. I opened the letter we received
from Guadalupe Radio Network and read it. There was also a two-sided insert titled,
"The Importance of the Family Rosary" and a pamphlet on how to pray the rosary.
The reminder I needed was that we need to pray the rosary in our home, together on a
daily basis.
I pray the rosary when I walk outside and when I walk at the gym. I periodically pray
the rosary with a group of friends in the courtyard at our parish. Jim and I pray the
rosary with our friends and fellow parishioners before Mass in the sanctuary on Sunday
evenings.
The point I'm trying to make is that Jim and I rarely pray the rosary together anymore.
We both have our individual prayer times but somewhere along the way we stopped
praying together, as a couple, on a regular basis. We still pray together before meals and
at Mass. Many times we will pray the rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet while we
are traveling but not on a daily basis.
This morning while Jim was reading the paper I kept on saying, "listen to this," as I read
different quotes and information about the importance of praying the rosary together
as a family. Jim would lay the newspaper down and listen as I read different things
to him. The sad thing is, we know how important it is to pray together, to pray the
rosary together, we just haven't made praying together a priority lately.
I feel like God is reminding us, calling us to pray the rosary together again. I invite all
of you to begin praying the family rosary together. Families all over the world need
prayer. We all need God in our lives. Jim and I are going to make praying the rosary
together on a daily basis a priority in our home. It only takes 20-25 minutes to pray the
rosary. If you don't think you can fit this into your schedule then try praying one decade,
that will only take you about 5 minutes. I know you can spare 5 minutes! I am going
to explain how to pray the rosary for those of you who may not know how. I will try
really hard to walk you through it step by step on a daily basis for the next week.
Are you ready? Let's get started!
I'm going to list all the steps that are in this pamphlet published by the Marian Press.
You can still pray the prayers of the rosary without actually having a rosary. Use
your fingers to keep count of the prayers.

Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and
lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for
us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be To The Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope,
to thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears; turn, then, most gracious
Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
